The aluminum tubing is covered in a soft rubber foam to protect the finish of your guitar, while a rubber strap across the neck support ensures that your guitar won't fall out of the stand.The stand is height adjustable from about 25\" ~ 29\" at the neck support. The base has a 20.5\" span, which gives it rock solid stability, even on carpet.Note that the rubber tubing will interact with the chemicals in a nitrocellulose finish and can ruin the finish where it comes in contact with the rubber. Never allow a guitar with a nitrocellulose finish to come into contact with rubber tubing.
