Extreme QSFP+ to QSFP+ active optical fiber cables are suitable for short to medium links and offer a cost-effective way to establish a 40 Gigabit link between 40Gb ports of Extreme platforms. Active optical cables are much thinner than copper cables and do not cause Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) issues, which is critical in high-density systems. Extreme currently offers active optical cables in lengths of 3, 5, 10, 20 and 100 meters.
