Cisco HyperFlex Edge Systems are optimized for remote sites, branch offices, and edge environments. As a smaller form factor of Cisco HyperFlex, Cisco HyperFlex Edge keeps the full power of a next generation hyperconverged platform even without connecting to Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects. Cisco HyperFlex Edge Systems support a variable configuration of 2, 3, or 4 HX converged nodes and supports the scale up of CPU, memory, and storage capacity (hot-add additional capacity drives).The Cisco HyperFlex Edge operates using existing top of rack 1GE or 10/25GE switching with options for both single and dual switch configurations. HyperFlex Edge is typically deployed in environments with a minimal infrastructure footprint, hence the use of UCS compute-only nodes is not supported.
